It’s finally on. Australians will go to the polls in a neck-and-neck contest for power on May 3. And the campaign battlelines have been starkly drawn.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says Australians will be better off under Labor – with new tax cuts to sweeten the deal. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, armed with petrol pump discounts, promises more immediate cost of living relief – and big cuts to other government spending. And minor parties and independents could steal even more voters this election.

So, who do you trust? What do the budget promises from both sides mean for your bottom line? Who has the vision to steer the country through the turbulence of Trump and trade tremors to more prosperous times?
