Dear Echo Valley Member, As we navigate our way through unchartered territory, we want to thank ALL of you for your kind words this past week. WE are stronger together and if WE can stay safe, WE win!
In an effort to keep you and our staff safe we want to eliminate as many touchpoints as possible so that all of you can enjoy the golf course in this very stressful time.
The following practices will be effective immediately: - Private Carts: Any members who own their own carts, we encourage you to continue using the golf course. Please ride by yourself. If you need some fresh air and just want to go for a drive please do so.
- Club Carts: Carts will be available for members. We do encourage you to take your own cart to help with social distancing. Carts will be cleaned before and after rounds, but we do encourage you to bring your own wipes or sanitizer for the steering wheel, etc.
- Walkers: For those of you who wish to walk, feel free to do so including the Ridge. If you would like to just get some fresh air and enjoy nature, please feel free to walk the Vale until it opens.
- Golf Shop: The Golf Shop will now be mobile, check-in will be outside by the cart circle. If there is anything you need to purchase, the golf staff can run in and get for you. Also, if you own your own cart you can drop off agreement, insurance and pick up cart stickers there. Please continue to call the Golf Shop at 515-285-7355 to make tee times.
- Guests: You may still bring guests, but we do ask you to be cautious. Especially with everyone coming back from spring break, we want everyone to practice precautionary methods that the CDC is continually updating.
- Take and Go: Your Club is still a great place for a to-go order. The menu is attached, and this service will be available from 4-7 daily. Call the clubhouse at 285-0101 to place an order. When arriving at the Club, call the number again and proceed to the South door (patio door next to Terrace) where we will have your to-go meal ready. We certainly want to continue this service. If we find it is in the best interest of our membership to discontinue, we will notify you.
- Terrace Room and Patio: The Terrace Room and Patio remain clos ed for both table service and social gathering. If you would like a canned beverage or snack before your round you may stop in the Terrace. Locker Room access is still available.
- Bag Room: The bag room will be open daily but not staffed. If you need your clubs, you are free to access the bag room. We do ask that you keep your clubs with you following your round.
- Golf Course: When putting, we ask that you leave the flagstick in to alleviate touches. Also, when in the bunker simply pick your ball up, smooth area out with your foot, then place back down. Don’t rake bunkers following a shot, just smooth out with your foot the best you can.
We have heard from many of you about how grateful you are that the golf course is open. Our goal and expectation, with your help, is to manage the golf course safely and vigilantly every single day to provide all of you this sanctuary. For those of you not playing golf be watching for member walk times (with social distancing). Sometimes the best medicine is a little nature, sunshine and fresh air. As mentioned in number 6 above, we do have limited food and beverage options. We would also encourage anyone that wants to bring their own food and beverage while playing please do so. Have a picnic, take it on the golf course and stay safe. We’re all in this together and if WE stay safe, WE WIN!!
