Good Afternoon John

I know it's been a long time since you've heard from me on a regular basis. I apologize.

This takes me to the cryptic “splitting up” in the subject line of this email. What does it mean?

It simply means that starting next week, we will publish one newsletter for our software training audience and another for our small business audience.

The content you’ll receive will be based on the subject you chose when you subscribed. You can always change your preferences by clicking the update your preferences link at the very bottom of this email.

If you selected a software application (Project, Access, Excel, etc.) your newsletter will contain that content.

If you signed up for Online Marketing content, you will receive content geared towards business owners and entrepreneurs. This includes social media, SEO, digital marketing, business book reviews, etc. If you signed up for “All Newsletters” you’ll get everything.

We will be publishing, at most, one newsletter per audience each week. The software tips newsletter will continue to go out on Thursday. The small business newsletter will go out on Saturday.

Thank you for being a subscriber. I'd love to hear from you. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to call 770.498.7333 or email me

Warmly,

Quick Tip - How to Download Directly to Google Drive
Did you know that Google gives 15 Gigabytes of storage (Free!) to each account holder? (If you have a gmail account, you have a Google account). Google Drive is one of our go-to tools for document sharing or collaboration.

Did you know that you can download a file from the Internet directly to your Google Drive online?

Here are the steps:
Right-click the link of the item (pdf, mp3, etc.) you are trying to download.
(Note: You might also see a Download to Google Drive option. Do not use this if the file you are trying to download is larger than 25 MB).
Select Copy Link Address.
Go to your Google Drive.
Click the New button, then File Upload.
When the Open dialog box pops up, paste the link next to File Name

Of course, if you have the Google Drive app on your computer, every time you sync your drive, files on your hard drive are copied to the cloud and vice versa. This quick tip is for those who don't have the app.
Access Total Query Tip:

Imagine this. Your database contains customer data, and you want to group your customers by number of employees or company revenues.

Perhaps you have a table of employee data and you want to group employees by age group or salary.

How would you accomplish this? For the step-by-step answer, check out this blog post

Cool Tool - Stress Free Productivity

This tool has been critical in helping me organize, track and progress on my goals as well as my day-to-day tasks. It's called Trello, and it is 100% free. I have it installed on my PC and phone. Of course, it syncs quickly and effortlessly. Words cannot express how much of a difference it has made in my life. Talk about stress free productivity!

Excel Tip: Is it time to switch from Pivot Tables to Power Pivot?

It all began with Excel v2010. Microsoft offered PowerPivot (now known as Power Pivot) as one of the add-ons in the campaign to improve Excel’s Business Intelligence (BI) offering.

People who are new to Power Pivot are not really clear on what it does and how it relates to Pivot Tables. They often think of it as an alternative to Pivot Tables. Is it? To learn more about the differences between the two, click here to read the entire blog post
