Friend, | ||||||||
ICYMI, the fight for Net Neutrality is officially back on: Last week, Sen. Markey, Sen. Wyden and Rep. Matsui introduced the Net Neutrality and Broadband Justice Act in the House and Senate. The bill would restore the FCC’s authority to regulate broadband under the Communications Act — empowering the agency to work toward its mandate of ensuring that affordable high-speed internet is available to all. We know what we’re up against, : An industry with massive financial power and connections on Capitol Hill that is very happy with the status quo. Companies like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon are counting on their deep-pocketed lobbying machine to stall this bill — just as they have with Gigi Sohn’s confirmation to fill the tiebreaking FCC seat. But with your help, we can continue organizing to get as many members of Congress as possible to co-sponsor the Net Neutrality and Broadband Justice Act and prioritize it this fall. In Solidarity— | ||||||||
