| Hi John, On Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern, Marla Smith, MHSA, and I will be holding a special 3-hour live interactive workshop on the peer review process including an interactive case study. This is an opportunity for physician peer review committee members and peer review staff to receive training that would typically cost thousands of dollars. This program will help participants understand how peer review can be conducted with performance improvement focus that is fair and helpful to the physician being reviewed. Specifically, we will help peer review support staff understand the value of their role and outline the critical steps for selecting and preparing peer review cases. We will also provide training for physician reviewers on how to approach case review efficiently and for the peer review committee on how to arrive at fair decisions designed to foster physician improvement. At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to: Identify and screen appropriate cases for the case review process Design a case review form that supports physician reviews to conduct effective reviews Identify and communicate physician improvement opportunities fairly and collegially Create polices to enhance accountability for providers and physician leaders involved in the FPPE process I hope you can join us! Sincerely, Robert J. Marder, MD | | | |
