It's a family affair

Our big news this week is the launch of a new wealth manager brand, Bowmore Wealth Group, a small company with big ambitions.

Comprising Bowmore Financial Planning, formerly The Citimark Partnership, and Bowmore Asset Management, the new group currently employs over 25 staff working across financial planning and asset management, with over GBP350 million of assets under advice, but has designs on growing the business to over GBP1 billion in the next four to five years. And as father and son team Mark and Charles Incledon tell Beverly Chandler, maintaining the personal touch that clients have come to expect will remain a priority.

Also this week, we look at new research from BackBay Communications which highlights an increase in the use of marketing and public relations efforts by family offices as they look to differentiate their offerings and build awareness of their individual investments objectives.

Alternative investment opportunities meanwhile, are catching the eye of HNW investors amid the economic fallout from the coronavirus crisis, according to Connection Capital. The results of the firm’s latest survey reveal that 80 per cent of respondents are considering new alternative asset investments this year, with forty per cent saying they are ready to invest immediately.

“They have lived through economic crises before and seen first-hand that some excellent investment opportunities can emerge in the aftermath and that some investment strategies become more attractive,” says Connection Capital Managing Partner Claire Madden. “They don’t want to miss out.”
