Why is the Joint Commission making changes to a perfectly good and acceptable process to pro-actively manage your Life Safety Code deficiencies?

We will discuss the changes to the Statement of Conditions that have eliminated all of the advantages of listing Life Safety Code deficiencies in the PFI list.  We will also explain the new instructions on how to request an extension for LSC deficiencies that cannot be resolved within 60 days of the end of the survey, by using the Time-Limited Waiver process.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discover the changes the Joint Commission has made to the Statement of Conditions PFI Process
  • Identify changes that have been made regarding PFIs
  • Describe the application process for an extension Time-Limited Waiver request
