• Records from an Aug. 18 inspection of the Big Moose Inn that the BDN requested shed some light on how the virus could have circulated during the Aug. 7 party celebrating a newlywed couple.

• PLUS: The state has now suspended the license of Big Moose Inn on Millinocket Lake, which hosted an Aug. 7 wedding reception connected to an outbreak that has spread to at least 87 people.

Bangor High junior set out to do 15 things he’d never done in last 15 days of summer

• “I wanted to make the last 15 days of summer count, instead of wasting time indoors on our phones or in front of the TV,” said Evan Soucy, 16. “We’ve all been home since March, so we really wanted to get out and try new things.”

• A new ad from a Democratic super PAC goes after U.S. Sen. Susan Collins over the opioid epidemic, making two sweeping assertions that link back to only small pieces of her record, campaign and personal finances with one incendiary claim tied back to no more than a few of her husband's stock purchases.

• Jonathan McCue, 31, of Bangor allegedly took 80 masks and at least two boxes of medical gloves from the Risk Management/Finance Office overnight on April 1 and planned to resell them. The alleged theft came as the nation faced a shortage of critical personal protective equipment.
