Johns Island startup donates masks to health facilities

Johns Island-based life sciences startup company Okra Medical has donated nearly 100,000 face masks to eight hospitals and a pediatric group to help the health care facilities protect against COVID-19. The masks are small so that they can be worn by children and young adults.

Website directs businesses to revitalization resources

The COVID-19 resource site accelerate.sc.gov is ready to do business. S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster announced the launch on Tuesday. The website will direct users how to file for unemployment, while also leading them to new employment opportunities and information about the state’s revitalization efforts, according to a news release.
