With August volumes trending upward, S.C. Ports Authority CEO Jim Newsome said the numbers reflect the port’s best year-over-year month since March, when the pandemic began impacting global supply chains.

SC Biz News wins 14 awards in statewide contest

SC Biz News publications took home seven first-place honors in the S.C. Press Association’s 2019 contest, including best newspaper publication for the Business Journal. Contest judges noted the newspaper's “strong coverage and good use of photos.” The annual ceremony was held online earlier this month.

Majorel call center to bring 500 jobs to Greenville

Luxembourg-based business process outsourcing provider Majorel has launched a new customer service site in Greenville with plans to hire 250 staff members by the end of the year. The company broke ground on the site in May 2020, and construction culminated in August. An official grand opening is set for later in the fall.

Helping Out

Crews Chevrolet will host a blood drive on Monday in its showroom in North Charleston. The event is a part of the Summer Drive to Save Lives campaign through the S.C. Automobile Dealers Association and American Red Cross.
