Carver Maritime to expand North Charleston operations

Shipping and warehousing company Carver Maritime LLC plans to expand its existing operations in North Charleston with a new processing and distribution center slated to open by the summer. The $14 million investment is expected to create 22 new jobs.

Tecklenburg secures 2nd term

Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg won a second term in Tuesday’s runoff election, beating District 8 Councilman Mike Seekings. In Charleston City Council District 3, Jason Sakran beat Councilman James Lewis Jr., becoming the fourth new face on City Council come January.

10 S.C. charities honored as Angel organizations

The annual designation recognizes charities that devote at least 80% of their total expenditures to charitable programs, among other qualifications. Selections are based on a review of financial reports and nominations from the public.
