Newport News and Hampton police each investigated homicides on Tuesday. A man in Newport News was shot and killed around 2:30 p.m. in the 14200 block of Penrith Lane, police said. In Hampton, a man was shot and killed in the 2100 block of Kecoughtan Road around 9:15 p.m.
