Here are the key injury situations we're watching out for Sunday, along with some potential fill-in options if you need help: |
Quarterback |
- In: Ben Roethlisberger (knees)
- Out: Gardner Minshew (thumb), Kyle Allen (ankle)
|
There's no surprises here, thankfully. I'm a little wary of trusting Roethlisberger, even against a cake matchup like the Bengals. He's dealing with injuries in both of his knees and was only able to participate in Saturday's walkthrough after sitting out the whole week in the COVID-19 protocol. He's more like a No. 2 QB for me. |
Running back |
- In: Nick Chubb (knee), Miles Sanders (knee), Troymaine Pope (neck)
- Out: Christian McCaffrey (shoulder), David Montgomery (concussion), David Johnson (concussion; IR), Joe Mixon (foot), Chris Carson (foot), Justin Jackson (knee), Matt Breida (hamstring), Carlos Hyde (hamstring), Devonta Freeman (ankle)
- Questionable: Kenyan Drake (ankle), Mark Ingram (ankle), Damien Harris (chest)
|
Another one with few surprises, the biggest questions are whether Drake and Ingram will be able to play. They kick off at 4:05 p.m. and 8:20 p.m., so we won't know for sure until after the first lineup locks today, but you won't want to start Ingram either way. The bigger impact is on J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards in Baltimore and Chase Edmonds in Arizona. Should Drake and Ingram play, none of those players would be much more than a low-end starting Fantasy option, though Drake's role in the running game should continue to give him a solid floor, even if he hasn't shown much upside. |
- Fill-ins to consider: J.D. McKissic (70%), Kalen Ballage (56%), Jordan Howard (22%), Troymaine Pope (9%), Salvon Ahmed (5%), Ryan Nall (4%),
|
|
Wide receiver |
- In: Alshon Jeffery (calf)
- Out: Deebo Samuel (hamstring), Kenny Golladay (hip), Laviska Shenault (hamstring)
- Questionable: Allen Robinson (knee), Jerry Jeudy (shoulder), Golden Tate (knee), N'Keal Harry (concussion)
|
It sounds like Jeudy and Tate are more on the "in" side of questionable, while Robinson might be a true game-time decision. If you've got him on your roster, you probably want to consider adding Darnell Mooney to swap in for Robinson if he isn't active. Mooney has flashed real potential as a downfield weapon for the Bears. |
- Fill-ins to consider: John Brown (71%), Sterling Shepard (58%), Jakobi Meyers (55%), Tim Patrick (54%), Darnell Mooney (29%), Keelan Cole (24%)
|
Tight end |
- In: Austin Hooper (appendectomy), T.J. Hockenson (toe), Robert Tonyan (ankle)
- Out: Irv Smith (groin)
- Fill-ins to consider: Jimmy Graham (66%), Logan Thomas (40%), Jordan Reed (30%)

If you want your questions answered, head to Twitter and use "#AskFFT" and we'll be answering them all morning. Here are some of the key questions I received Sunday morning: |
- Tatiana: Who would you start between Tyler Boyd and Chris Godwin? I already started A.J. Brown, so I can't afford any more lineup mistakes.
|
Boyd is definitely the safer option between the two, even with the matchup against the Steelers, and I think he's probably also the higher-upside play. The truth is, we really don't know what to expect of anyone in the Buccaneers new-look offense, while we can be reasonably confident Boyd is going to see a healthy number of targets as Joe Burrow's No. 1 option. Godwin is more likely to hurt you. |
- Nik: I'm probably overthinking this, but I have Deshaun Watson and Justin Herbert. I'm starting Watson, but is Herbert a better choice due to the weather in Cleveland?
|
You're not necessarily overthinking it. I don't care much about the expected rain in Cleveland, but the 23-plus mph winds are definitely a reason to be cautious. It would be overthinking it to sit Watson for, say, Kirk Cousins. For another top-10 QB? That's not a bad idea. |
- Lemuel: Allen Robinson is one of my starters but his injury now seems more serious than first reported. I have Robinson, Robby Anderson starting with DJ Chark as my flex. Can I trust that Robinson will play on Monday or do I need to shuffle and start Travis Fulgham, Tim Patrick, or Justin Jefferson.
|
I'm fine with playing Fulgham over Robinson if you want to avoid the injury situation. I'm not necessarily worried about what the return of Miles Sanders and Alshon Jeffery will mean for Fulgham's role, but I am interested in watching that game to see whether he sees the field less often or doesn't garner quite as many quality looks. It'll be interesting, for sure, but he's been so good that I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he gives me reason not to. If you want to give Robinson a try, add Darnell Mooney as a last-minute swap if Robinson is ruled out. |
- A.P.: Noah Fant or Austin Hooper at tight end? Leonard Fournette, Diontae Johnson, or Tee Higgins at flex?
|
That's a tough choice. My initial gut reaction is Johnson, even though that hasn't exactly been a rewarding experience each week. However, he's had double-digit targets in two of the last three games and has a much better matchup than Higgins does. If I can, I'd like to avoid Tampa's backfield for the time being. And I'll go with Fant over Hooper in a game where the Browns would probably prefer not to have to throw it much. |
- Frank: Pick one: Phillip Lindsay, D'Andre Swift, or Christian Kirk?
|
I would go with Swift in this one. I actually thought Week 9 was pretty encouraging for him; despite trailing most of the game, often by more than one score, Swift still led the team with 13 carries, his second-highest total so far. Washington likely won't be able to jump out to a big lead early, so hopefully it's another week of Swift being featured. |
- Marco: Noah Fant, Eric Ebron, or Dallas Goedert? And can you count on Antonio Brown or D.J. Moore?
|
That's a bit of an embarrassment of riches at tight end, and I would go with Goedert for this week. I expect him to have a much bigger role after getting his feet back under him two weeks ago. You could probably drop Ebron. As for Brown and Moore … I definitely trust Moore quite a bit more than Brown at this point. Yes, it has been a frustrating season, but he's still seeing downfield targets and is only two games removed from a three-game stretch with 93 receiving yards in each game. He's a buy-low candidate. As for Brown? I'm not considering starting him until he gives me a tangible reason to. I saw none in Week 9. |
