C.J. Stroud (concussion) is back after missing his past two games, and I'm throwing him right back in my lineups if I have him. I'm also staring Kyler Murray (illness), who is expected to play despite dealing with an illness this week. Things are fairly straightforward at the QB position overall, with Trevor Lawrence ruled out with a shoulder injury, and none of the other injured players really in the QB1 discussion. Will Levis is a low-end QB2 in his return from an ankle injury, while Sam Howell is a risky QB2 with some upside because it looks like he's going to start for the Commanders with Jacoby Brissett (hamstring) looking unlikely. They wouldn't bench him for Jake Fromm, would they? They very well might. |

The biggest news on the injury front at RB concerned Raheem Mostert (ankle/knee), who is not expected to play in Sunday's massive game against the Ravens. Mostert has been on the injury report for much of the season with various lower-leg injuries, but had consistently played through them en route to a career-best season, so this comes at an especially bad time for Mostert. De'Von Achane figures to take on a bigger role, but I'm not necessarily sure we can just expect him to step into the RB1 role for Miami, given his struggles staying healthy. Miami may prefer to keep him in his 12-15 touch role, with Jeff Wilson taking on more of Mostert's role. Still, Achane is a solid RB2 with huge upside, even in a very tough matchup; Wilson is more of an RB3, given the matchup, but he's not a bad start. |
The other big RB news is that Isiah Pacheco (shoulder/concussion) is expected to play after getting cleared from the protocol Saturday. He looked unlikely to play all week, but it looks like he'll be in his typical role, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire more like a change-of-pace back. Pacheco carries some risk given the recent injury track record, but he's got a terrific matchup against the Bengals on the way, and I'm trusting him as an RB1 this week. |
Otherwise, Brian Robinson (hamstring) is back from his two-game absence (he's an RB3 in a brutal matchup), Alvin Kamara (illness) is expected to play (just start him) and Kenneth Walker (shoulder) has some concerns but is expected to play (riskier RB3). Josh Jacobs (quad) is doubtful, putting Zamir White back in the high-end RB3 range of the rankings, and Zack Moss (forearm) is out, so we should see Jonathan Taylor dominate work for the Colts again. He's a fringe RB1. |

We've got no shortage of big names at the wide receiver position who won't be available in Week 17, beginning with Keenan Allen (heel) and Jaylen Waddle (ankle). However, things could be a lot worse, with Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) looking like he's got a pretty good chance to play if he can make it through pre-game warm-ups. The complicating factor there is that the Bengals play in the second-latest window of the week at 4:25, so we may not learn his status until 2:55; I'm willing to roll the dice on Chase if I have a Jayden Reed or Jordan Addison to replace him, but given the nature of the injury and Jake Browning at QB, Chase is definitely less of a must-start option than he typically would be. So, if you don't have at least a WR3 to slide into your lineup if he's inactive, I might try to avoid the situation entirely. Depends on your personal risk tolerance, but in the league where I have him, I'm going with Chris Godwin and Puka Nacua ahead of him. |
Otherwise, it looks like most of the questionables at WR are going to go. That includes Jordan Addison (ankle), DK Metcalf (back), Puka Nacua (hip), Michael Pittman (concussion), and Jayden Reed (toe/chest). Courtland Sutton (concussion), Joshua Palmer (concussion), Marquise Brown (heel), will all be on the sidelines. |

As of Sunday morning, there's only one tight end injury we're watching: Chicago's Cole Kmet (knee). He's questionable and looks like a true game-time decision, with reports indicating his status might have taken a turn for the worse over the weekend. Kmet is going to give it a go before kickoff, so we should know before lineups lock if he'll be good to go. But I'm making sure I have alternates ready to go right now. |
