With 13 games in the books for NFL Week 4 heading Monday Night Football, there has been a total of 705 points scored so far. That comes out to 54.23 per game. The average total this week was 49.1, the highest in NFL history, and the over still hit 80% of the time. Scoring is way up so far in 2020, and Week 4 was another huge week. |
Of course, it wasn't all good news. The Dolphins-Seahawks game was mostly a bust, and the Rams were huge disappointments, too. And, of course, the injuries: Nick Chubb (knee) and Austin Ekeler (hamstring/knee) look like they could be dealing with serious issues, Kenyan Drake got banged up, and O.J. Howard is likely done for the season, to name a few of the biggest issues. |
Before we get to everything you need to know from Sunday's action in Week 4, here are a few morning updates for Monday's night's double-header action: |
- The Patriots and Chiefs have both avoided any further positive tests and will play tonight at 7:05 EST, with the Falcons-Packers game set for 8:50.
- Davante Adams (hamstring) announced on Twitter Monday he would not play tonight, leaving the Packers without their top two wide receivers after Allen Lazard underwent core muscle surgery. Marquez Valdes-Scantling should be the Packers No. 1 WR and Darrius Shepherd and Malik Taylor should step into the starting lineup. If you're absolutely desperate, Shepherd has more experience with the team and could be the better option. Expect to see more of the running backs and tight ends in the passing game, too.
- Sony Michel (quadriceps) has also been ruled out, so Rex Burkhead and James White figure to see most of the work for New England. Damien Harris could be a potential option if they activate him from I.R. and J.J. Taylor looms as a possible fill-in if you're desperate, especially if Harris doesn't play.

This week, it will all hinge on the health of those running backs. Austin Ekeler looks like he's ticketed toward a multi-week absence, and Nick Chubb is set to have an MRI on his knee, so that could be a serious issue, too. Hopefully we'll know more about each player before waivers run Tuesday evening, but it's time to prepare for the possibility that Justin Jackson and D'Ernest Johnson might be the top targets this week. |
Of course, if Kenyan Drake ends up missing time, Chase Edmonds would be the real jewel of this group. He's already locked up the passing game work in the Cardinals backfield — much to Drake boosters' chagrin —and if he's the go-to guy for even one week, he'll be the top priority on waivers and a possible top-10 back. |

Biggest winners |
- Odell Beckham — Beckham won't have multiple long touchdowns every week, and you'd still like to see the Browns throw the ball more, but the fact that they are getting him involved in numerous ways is a good sign. He's not an elite Fantasy WR, but you're starting him with confidence.
- Joe Mixon — Calm down, Chicken Littles. Mixon has a huge weekly touch floor, an increased passing game role, and big-play ability. It may be frustrating and inconsistent, but he's a must-start player.
- Drew Brees — I'll admit, I was ready to give up on Brees for as long as Thomas was out, and I even dropped him for Gardner Minshew before Week 2. But he's proven me wrong and now he gets Thomas back for Week 5 against a Chargers team that got shredded Sunday.
|
Biggest losers |
- Darrell Henderson — If Henderson had just struggled, you could shrug it off. However, he was out-touched and out-snapped by Malcolm Brown, and it wasn't close. And Cam Akers' eventual return won't make things any easier.
- Leonard Fournette — Fournette didn't even play and Ronald Jones dropped three passes, and yet he's still a loser. The fact is, Jones just hasn't looked like a back the Buccaneers need to be desperate to replace, and that's bad news for Fournette.
- A.J. Green — He's droppable in 12-team leagues at this point. At least in the first two games, Green was getting a ton of targets, but he has just 11 the last two games. He might not be finished as a Fantasy option, but he'll need to earn our trust back.
- The non-DeAndre Hopkins WR in ARI — This isn't the high-octane offense we were promised. The Cardinals aren't throwing it much overall, and they're throwing it even less often to anyone who doesn't have "Hopkins" on the back of their jersey. Of course, they're averaging just 5.07 yards per target when they do, so it's not like they have much reason to do it more.
- Michael Gallup — Gallup is getting squeezed out of the offense, and it isn't just CeeDee Lamb's fault. Gallup will have big weeks, but he's not a reliable option at this point. There are just too many mouths to feed, and Gallup is too far down the hierarchy right now.

"You should sell high on Joe Mixon." |
"First things first, that was a relief. After three straight duds to open the season, Mixon finally delivered with 181 total yards and three touchdowns against the Jaguars. And you know what? You should do what you can to see if that was enough to convince anyone that Mixon is once again worthy of first-round value in trade |

"Odell Beckham is back as a top-12 Fantasy receiver." |
|
"Robby Anderson, not D.J. Moore, is the No. 1 receiver on the Panthers." |
|
"T.Y. Hilton is droppable." |
|
"DeVante Parker is the only Dolphin you can trust as a Fantasy starter." |
