When the Colts and Broncos kick off Week 5 Thursday night, they could do so without two of the best running backs in Fantasy, after Jonathan Taylor suffered an ankle injury and Javonte Williams left with a knee injury Sunday. We don't know the significance of either injury at the point I'm typing this, but Taylor is set for testing Monday while Williams left the stadium on crutches, so it seems fair to assume their status for Thursday night is in doubt at the very least.
This has been an incredibly frustrating start to the Fantasy season thanks in large part to injuries, and what makes it especially frustrating is we've had to deal with so many absences long before bye weeks have even started to wreak havoc on our lineups. They don't even start until Week 6, but already it feels like we've been playing with a lot less than a full deck of metaphorical cards this season. And things are only going to get worse.
Of course, it's worth reminding ourselves that not all injuries are as serious as they may appear in the harsh light of Sunday evening. Dalvin Cook suffered a shoulder injury last Sunday that had me very worried about his potential availability this week, and then he went out and had 22 touches Sunday.
It may be hard to be optimistic about Taylor and Williams right now, especially given the short turnaround to Thursday's game for both, but let's not panic. In today's newsletter, I've got the latest news from around the league you need to know about coming out of Sunday's games, plus the top waiver-wire options as we look ahead to Week 5. Hopefully, things end up better than they look right now.
Admittedly, it would be hard for it to be worse.

We've got a few updates on Taylor or Williams as of Sunday night, but again, the Thursday kickoff for both means they have just three days of turnaround. At this point, I would be pretty surprised to see either suit up, but hopefully, that's just pessimism. And if it's not, hopefully, it's just a short-term issue for both.
Here are the rest of the injuries we're keeping an eye on coming out of Sunday, with more in-depth thoughts on what each means here
Here's who I'm looking at coming out of Sunday's action:
Top targets:
  1. Mike Boone, RB, Broncos (0%)
  2. Nyheim Hines, RB, Colts (75%)
  3. George Pickens, WR, Steelers (63%)
  4. Latavius Murray, RB, Saints (0%)
  5. Tyler Allgeier, RB, Falcons (45%)
