Weekend
This week there was much to absorb, reflect upon, and, if these tumultuous events are to have any meaning, act upon. In Natalie Haddad’s review of the painter Henrik Olesen, she notes that “Having knowledge or information withheld is a form of control that enables oppression.”
Before the omnipresence of cell phones, the facts about police violence were known chiefly to those who experienced it firsthand. We can all now, as the prosecutor in Minneapolis put it, believe our eyes. What will be done with that information and the responsibility it imposes?
