Weekend
The first case of COVID-19 in New York State was confirmed on March 1, 2020. Less than two weeks later, New York City began its lockdown. During the past year, I have been going to galleries around once a week. Often, I am the only person in looking at the art besides the people working at the front desk. I never see their faces and would not recognize them if they were maskless, but I am thankful to every single one of them. In my world, they are essential workers. They are one reason why we still bring you art reviews each Saturday.
