EDITOR’S NOTE

Happy Sunday. What a year this month has been — and it’s not even over yet. Thankfully, a few things on the internet brought some much-needed distraction: Kate and Lila Moss’s matching mother-daughter yeti jackets; this delightful 10 Things I Hate About You reunion (Team Kat forever); Sydney Sweeney winning the “Babysitter of the Year” award (I’m low-key jealous of an 11-year-old), and Martha Stewart interviewing Pamela Anderson for Elle (the name of Pam’s sourdough starter is something else). Now, I’m off to gear up for tonight’s NFL playoffs showdown where I’m hoping the newly minted Queen of Buffalo makes an appearance in Taylor Swift’s suite. After all, the two go back to their pre-WAGs era

Deeply important information

👀  Did your beloved bracelet just break? According to the “Broken Jewelry Theory,” the universe may be trying to tell you something.

🥣 Grab a spoon, because this winter, we’re dressing for “soup mode.”

🍺 File this under Things So Outrageous, We’re Still Not Sure They’re Legit: Coors Light is getting into...beauty.

👠 Out of all the Y2K fashion trends that are making a comeback, the peep-toe resurgence might just be the most triggering of all.

💇‍♀️ Forget diamond rings — the marquise shape is coming for your hair.

I can't look away.
Timothee Chalamet

Just when you thought the internet had reached peak Timothée Chalamet, it said “hold my teeny, tiny purse.” This past week, while making extraordinarily brave fashion choices, the King of Miniature Accessories nabbed an Oscar nom for his portrayal of Bob Dylan and pulled double duty on SNL as last night’s host (this sketch where he plays a workout class instructor with luscious Fabio-inspired hair is a must-watch) and musical guest. That was just the cherry on top of a delightfully entertaining press tour for A Complete Unknown, which has included: peddling into the UK premiere on a brat green e-bike (not even movie stars are exempt from parking fines), debuting sideswept Bieber-like blond bangs, releasing an exceptionally chaotic music video (in the words of one X user, “it’s giving Raygun”), and showing off his best Soulja Boy dance moves. Oh, and that’s in addition to his attempt to single-handedly bring back True Religion jeans, his shocking amount of college football knowledge (who knew?), and his iconic appearance at the Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest.

By all accounts, at this point, we should be tired of seeing Chalamet and his Little Mustache™ dominating our feeds. After all, he’s been the prince of internet boyfriends since at least 2018. And yet, we keep coming back to his goofy, authentic, Lil’ Timmy Tim self. Perhaps it’s because you can always rely on him to make…interesting choices, whether that’s who he dates (yep, we said it), the roles he plays (*cough* Willy Wonka *cough*), or the clothes he wears (see: Disney Channel-coded skinny scarves and jokes that he may have raided the closet of Kylie Jenner’s daughter). Or, maybe it’s the fact that he never ceases to deliver moments that genuinely surprise and delight, like when he casually strolled into the University of Minnesota’s marching band rehearsal. Plus, in an industry where everyone seems to take themselves, shall we say, a little too seriously, Chalamet just keeps on keeping on.

Leg warmers fashion trend

What’s that saying: Two is a coincidence, three is a trend? Last week, Camila Cabello posted pictures from a Mexico performance, in which the “Havana” singer wore what might be her most confounding look ever — involving a bikini top, a see-through corset, a cropped Y2K-era bolero, and, most notably, fuzzy leg warmers. Days later, Doechii was photographed in an equally perplexing outfit, including two thongs, oversized sweats, and — you guessed it — leg warmers. Naturally, we’re afraid if we don’t intervene quickly, everyone will be wearing leg warmers come spring. And, let’s be real, there are just two ’80s comebacks we’re willing to accept: funky, statement earrings (your mom will be thrilled) and oversized, Diane Keaton-esque power suits.

Welcome back, Cameron Diaz.
Cameron Diaz

In this week’s edition of Things We’re Extremely Here For, we’re pleased to report that the OG “Mr. Brightside” sing-along queen is back to acting. That’s right, more than a decade after retiring, Cameron Diaz is starring in a new Netflix movie, aptly titled Back in Action, in which she and Jamie Foxx (who Diaz “couldn’t say no to”) play a pair of married former spies who are forced out of retirement when their cover is blown. Now, you may be wondering: Why did the cherished actress, who gave us iconic rom-coms like My Best Friend’s Wedding, There’s Something About Mary, and In Her Shoes, leave Hollywood in the first place? According to Diaz, she wanted to focus on building a family with her husband, Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden (the couple has a daughter, Raddix, and a son, Cardinal). And while Diaz hasn’t been totally out of the spotlight during that time (let us remind you of her organic wine brand), she recently revealed that a comment from Madden ultimately sparked her return. (Benji, on behalf of millennials everywhere, thank you.) As for what’s next, Diaz says her new rule moving forward is “no rom-coms, only mom-coms” — which luckily, doesn’t necessarily exclude another Charlie’s Angels sequel, since all three actresses have signaled they’re open to it. Hollywood, your move.

Need something to watch.
Keke Palmer and SZA in "One of Them Days"

What do you get when you combine Hollywood’s most charismatic multihyphenate and music’s most “brazenly self-deprecating” superstar? The raunchy buddy comedy you didn’t know you needed. Starring Keke Palmer and SZA (in her feature-film debut), One of Them Daysfollows two best friends and roommates — quick-witted, type-A Dreux (Palmer) and free-spirited Alyssa (SZA) — as they scramble to come up with $1,500 for rent by the day’s end. Their high-stakes adventure includes everything from chasing down Alyssa’s freeloading boyfriend, who blew their rent money on his knockoff designer T-shirt line, to seeking a loan from a predatory payday chain. And, as if a movie packed with “dynamic chemistry, laugh-out-loud moments, and an unapologetic celebration of sisterhood that feels both real and fresh” wasn’t enough, President Barbie herself is a producer.

What's the hand cream we like again?
Prequel Skin Hand Wrap Shielding Lotion

Prequel Hand Wrap Hand Shielding Lotion

Chief among winter’s many grievances (see: the deep frustration that is trying to keep a bag from falling off your shoulder) is the dry hand/greasy lotion issue — which is precisely why this Prequel hand cream is so genius. Not only is it formulated with hydrating ingredients, but it also creates a barely noticeable film on your skin, reducing moisture loss for a full 24 hours (yes, even if you excessively wash your hands). Plus, it absorbs almost immediately, so you can get right back to typing and texting without getting your devices greasy. And in the event that this all sounds too good to be true, rest assured: Several of our Commerce editors swear by this to get them through the coldest, driest days.
