EDITOR’S NOTE

Happy Sunday. It’s official — we’ve reached peak-Kate Middleton conspiracy theory as a society. Personally, I’m ready for a break…after I watch this hilarious spoof of the Royal PR team one more time. As for what will fill my time instead? Learning about natural wine from two surprisingly knowledgeable New Jersey bros-turned-wine-influencers. I’ll also order some of the most anticipated books for spring, watch Zayn wipe back tears on “Hot Ones,” and check out the latest spring fashion trends (this one may surprise you).

Deeply important information

🙃 Jeremy Strong Isn’t Sure He Knows Who He Is.” Good to know Kendall Roy is still Kendall Roy-ing.

👖 First, low-rise jeans made their (unwelcome) return. Now, back pocket denim designs are, well, back — and louder than ever.Time to dust off those True Religions…

👫 Turns out, it’s no longer enough to be a DINK. Now, you can be a SINK, a DINKY, even a DINKWAD.

While I can’t afford a house, a couple of “Disney adults” apparently spent $500K on a five-week, ultra luxury Walt Disney World honeymoon.

I can't look away.

You might have noticed there’s a new trend all over the red carpets. No, not floating shoulders, the bro-brooch, or toothpicks — though, those are all apparently real things. We’re referring to the growing list of stars who are dressing the part (correction: their part) long after films wrap. While the phenomenon — aka “method dressing” — isn’t entirely new, we’ve certainly entered, as Vogue put it, an “age of method dressing.” Thanks to, you guessed it, Margot Robbie/Barbie, who honestly deserves some sort of award for her dedication to staying in sartorial character. (Here’s a compilation of her best looks, since they alone could fill this entire newsletter.) But also, Halle Bailey, Maisie Williams, Jenna Ortega, and Zendaya, whose futuristic, sci-fi looks for “Dune: Part Two” were so good, the press tour felt more like a fashion show. Even effortlessly cool Kristen Stewart has committed to the bit in recent weeks. And there is evidently much more method dressing to come — especially if Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s “Wicked”-inspired Oscars looks were a preview of what’s to come around the film’s release.

Part of this is that promoting a film has become much more involved. What used to entail a few photo shoots, late night appearances, a junket or two, and a premiere has become a world tour, where celebs criss-cross the globe for at least two continents worth of premieres, festivals, press conferences, and promotional events. Each of those is designed to generate headlines, if not viral moments. And fashion — instead of being a sideshow to the film — is officially an integral part of this new movie marketing extravaganza. Somebody give the stylists a raise.

Need a new show.

If you like watching fictional politics to dissociate from our actual politics, let us introduce you to “The Girls on the Bus.” The series, which debuted Thursday on Max, follows four female journalists (including “Supergirl” and “Glee” star Melissa Benoist) as they cover a presidential election. Part heartfelt comedy, part political drama, it’s inspired by the memoir “Chasing Hillary,” which covered both of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns. Fans of “The Newsroom,” “Scandal,” or even “Parks and Recreation” may want to hop on board. Not sure if you want to take the ride? Check out the trailer for a glimpse of life on the trail (and of Scott Foley aka Jake Ballard).

Will an “urban hike” fix my life by tomorrow?

First, influencers tried to rebrand strolls as “hot girl walks.” Now, they’ve taken things up a notch and are going on “urban hikes” — aka, walking extremely long distances (think: 14 miles) around their city or town. Our first question: Who has the time? Second question: What sneakers are they wearing? If reading this made you insecure about your step count, don’t be. This latest TikTok “trendbait” is not a doctor-recommended wellness hack — and it won’t fix your life by tomorrow. But if you want to go the extra mile, we won’t stop you.

What’s the travel bag we like again?

Paravel Fold-Up Bag

First thing’s first: It’s well under $100 — but it’s made of super-strong nylon that’s unlikely to tear on you, no matter how much you stuff in it, so it’ll see you through years’ worth of travel. One of its claims to fame is its foldability, and one of our editors confirms that it genuinely folds up to the size of a piece of paper — not a gimmick. You can throw it in your suitcase and have it as a backup in case you’re going hard on the souvenirs.

Wait, they’re dating?

Awards season 🤝 celeb relationship red carpet debut. It’s a time-honored tradition at this point. This year, singer and actress Reneé Rapp and musician Towa Bird stole the spotlight, seemingly hard launching their relationship at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. Bird had been a supporting act on Rapp’s “Snow Hard Feelings” tour, and while the two artists haven’t *officially* commented on their relationship, they did seem pretty cozy as they enjoyed espresso martinis and took shots on the red carpet.
