Overview
Globally, the number of new weekly cases remained stable (-3%) during the week of 28 November to 4 December 2022 as compared to the previous week, with just under 3 million new cases reported. The number of new weekly deaths decreased by 17% as compared to the previous week, with about 7800 fatalities reported. As of 4 December, over 641 million confirmed cases and 6.6 million deaths have been reported globally.

WHO emergency appeal: Ebola outbreak in Uganda
When Uganda declared an Ebola outbreak on 20 September in the central part of the country, WHO’s response was based on lessons learned from previous outbreaks in the region, with national authorities focused on rapidly containing the outbreak and preventing it from spreading. WHO's appeal for US$ 88.2 million will help reduce death and illness, with minimum disruption to the country’s social and health systems.
