HSE is calling for your support of 2 campaigns in relation to men's health. Asbestos and You According to HSEâs mesothelioma statistics, men who worked in the building industry when asbestos was used extensively in the past continue to be most at risk. More men working in skilled trades die due to past asbestos exposure. Trades with particular risk include electrical engineering, joinery, plumbing, heating, flooring and tiling. Help raise awareness of what tradespeople should look for and what to do to protect themselves should they come across asbestos during their work. Working Minds HSE's Working Minds campaign can help you prevent stress and support mental health at work. The company was fined £300,000 after a worker severed one of his fingers in machinery. The worker was carrying out maintenance work on a packer closing station when the 800-kilogram machine became unbalanced and tipped backwards. His left hand was trapped and the little finger was severed. HSE's investigation found the company had failed to safely manage the risks of people performing maintenance at its factory.
