Arizona Court of Appeals: Calling a physician ‘an idiot’ is not defamation

The Arizona Court of Appeals (the "Court") affirmed a superior court's ruling for summary judgment in favor of a hospital's chief of cardiology and health system's general counsel against a physician's claims of defamation.

The plaintiff, cardiologist Seyed Mohsen Sharifi Takieh, MD (“Sharifi”), brought his claims against the defendants following the loss of his clinical privileges at Banner Baywood Medical Center (the "Hospital") in Mesa, Arizona.
