Dearest Readers, I am writing this from my new living room in Asheville, North Carolina. My house is in complete disarray. I have to hire new movers to move furniture that the previous movers put in places where I cannot retrieve them. I have to buy a washing machine, which I have been saying, I'll do that today, for at least a week now, but when confronted by the stunning amount of choice (I do not want wifi in my goddamn washing machine) and the price tag of a washing machine I just do something else instead, because there is so much to do. And yet!
My house is gorgeous, and there seem to be fruit trees everywhere I look. There are blueberries and pears growing outside my office on campus. When I drive to work, I can see mountain ranges that people travel across the country to visit. My family has (finally) recovered from COVID. It is sometimes hard for me to look past the cardboard boxes and the to-do list(s), but I am trying. I hope you are also finding some space for yourself. Until next time, AS |
