Exhibition Just Us Art Show On View Until Sunday, April 18
Enjoy an installation of art works by students who participated in the Just Us program, a partnership between Cameron Art Museum, New Hanover County Schools, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, the Resiliency Task Force of New Hanover County, the Harrelson Center, Dreams Center for Arts Education, and Brigade Boys and Girls Club, Thursday, April 1 – Sunday, April 18 in the reception hall. The Just Us program teaches resiliency to middle school students through art. This spring’s students worked with artist Dare Coulter. |

In-Person Fiber Arts Workshop Batik Scarf with Judith Chandler Saturday, April 10, 10 AM-2 PM & Sunday, April 11, 12-4 PM CAM Members: $144; Non-Members: $180 +$35 material fee
Participants will design a silk scarf. Using traditional tjantings and paint brushes, a hot wax resist will be applied to the fabric to protect white areas and subsequent colors. Silk paint/dyes will be applied according to the design. When complete, wax is removed through ironing multiple times. |

In-Person Photography Workshop I Am with Alan Cradick Saturday, April 10, 10 AM-12 PM & Sunday, April 11, 12-2 PM CAM Members: $48; Non-Members: $60
In this workshop participants will offer a white board with "I Am" written on the top to people on the street and invite them to complete the thought by writing down their feelings. We will then make a portrait with the person and the board. By working with strangers to create a photograph in half a minute, this workshop will hone the photographer's interpersonal and portrait skills. On Saturday, we will meet at the corner of Market and Front streets downtown. Sunday will be a Zoom meeting. Please have a mask, remember social distancing and dress for the weather. |

Virtual Art Appreciation Class Our Place in This World: American Landscape Artists (Georgia O'Keeffe, 1887-1986) with Luc Travers Sunday, April 11, 2:30-4 PM CAM Members: $12; Non-Members: $15
The goal of this series is to immerse ourselves into the worlds created by these artists, sensually, emotionally, and intellectually. We'll learn techniques for getting the most out of enjoying landscape paintings (including the use of music to enhance the mood of the landscape). We'll look deeply into each artist's world and examine what they had to say about our relationship with nature and our relationship with the universe. And we'll explore how the ideas in their landscapes reflected their personal lives and philosophies. |

Virtual Design NC 2021 Modernism to Maximalism: Form and Function Reimagined Thursday, April 29 and Friday, April 30
Inspiration comes in all forms: modernist and maximalist, interiors and exteriors, in person and virtually! Join Design NC and the Cameron Art Museum on April 29th and April 30th as we live stream presentations from influential and renowned interior designers Thom Filicia and Celerie Kemble along with modernist architect Robert Gurney and ornamental and architectural plaster craftsman Foster Reeve. This year’s conversations will be set in a virtual forum where participants will enjoy live discussions on these varying design aesthetics as we explore how they differ and how they might be the same. |
