Thanks for signing up to receive DeSmog’s newsletter and alerts!

Since 2006, the DeSmog team has produced hard-hitting, investigative journalism that is needed now more than ever to clear the PR pollution clouding climate science and clean energy solutions.

Thanks to the Trump administration, attacks on climate science and the environment have reached new levels of visibility as many of the individuals and organizations we've investigated for years suddenly gained the spotlight and positions of power.

Our small nonprofit team of journalists works to expose these operatives and the money fueling misinformation about clean energy and global warming.

Over the past decade, DeSmog has grown into a respected source for news and analysis. We have been named one of TIME Magazine’s “25 Best Blogs” and our articles and stories are routinely highlighted in the world’s most popular news outlets: The New York Times, The Guardian, Bloomberg, MSNBC, Forbes, ThinkProgress, and many more.

We tell the untold stories. While the business press continues lauding the fracking "revolution," our writers Sharon Kelly and Justin Mikulka have uncovered how Wall Street enabled the shale industry bubble that has burned through billions, and why the fracking industry still can't drill its way out of debt.

Our photojournalist Julie Dermansky always has her gear bag sitting by the front door, ready to go cover the urgent stories of our time: wreckless oil spills and pipeline disasters, climate-fueled extreme weather events, or public hearings and grassroots protests against the fossil fuel industry.

We hope you enjoy their work and the efforts of many others on our team.

Also please bookmark our Climate Disinformation Database, a vital resource for tracking opponents of climate action. DeSmog earned repeated praise from U.S. Senators during a three-hour Senate hearing on the “Web of Denial,” when 19 U.S. Senators spoke out in support of the Senate Web of Denial Resolution, calling out the destructive forces of fossil fuel industry-funded propaganda. Our database is their go-to source on denial, they said.

With science and basic facts under constant attack, our team at DeSmog will continue to dig deep for the real story, hold the powerful accountable, and clear the PR pollution that is clouding climate science and clean energy solutions.

Thanks so much for reading and supporting DeSmog!

Sincerely,
Brendan DeMelle and Ashley Braun, DeSmog Editors
