| "Choose to Challenge" International Women's Day with Wendy Harmer |
|
Hello everyone,On this International Women's Day I do hope you’ll join me for conversations with six remarkable women on the enduring, grand themes of ambition and power; faith and resilience; inspiration and passion. “Choose to Challenge” is the dare of this year’s IWD and you’ll meet six exceptional women who’ve done just that – challenged the assumptions of what they and others believed they could achieve and inspired so many others along the way. You’ll meet women whose names may be familiar to you and others I’m sure you’ll come to admire in these three fascinating encounters: Political powerhouse Anna Bligh, surgeon Dr Christine Lai; Orthodox Rabbanit Ellyse Borghi, Australian Of The Year Local Hero Rosemary Kariuki; and acclaimed entertainers Leah Purcell and Tina Arena. International Women's Day is a day to celebrate the incredible achievements of women all over the world and remind us of the work still to be done to achieve gender equality.I’m so looking forward to sharing these wonderful conversations with you and hope you’ll find nuggets of wisdom to take into your own lives as you too “Choose to Challenge”. So tune into the special on 8 March 9am on 702AM, online, or via the ABC listen app. And happy International Women’s Day!
