If I have been traveling, no matter how exciting or interesting my journey has been, when I get back to my own, clean, white linen bed, with my doors wide open to the water and the sky, I feel I can breathe and I sleep like a baby. The cool, clean touch of linen helps me sleep—I can't stand anything clingy or clammy, and linen somehow manages to be both soft and crisp. I believe in a thin mattress and a sprung, slatted base so I can feel suspended in the air, not a monolithic box spring that makes me feel like I'm sinking.
