What a night for LSU

Record breaking.

The term is thrown around a lot in sports, often when it literally means nothing of the sort.

That isn't the case for LSU women's basketball.

The Tigers extended their school record best start ever Monday night with a 76-68 victory over Tennessee to push their record to 21-0, 9-0 in SEC play. LSU won in part behind the ongoing school record by Angel Reese, who recorded her 21st straight double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds (Alexis Morris had a career best 31 points).

And it all came in front of an official crowd of 15,157 fans in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, the largest crowd for any sport in the arena since the slightly smaller PMAC debuted after its 2005 renovation.

The win keeps LSU on a collision course with No. 1 South Carolina (also 21-0, 9-0 SEC) on Super Bowl Sunday.

We have plenty of content for you from the game, starting with our main story, followed by my column on the incredible scene inside and out of the PMAC, and a photo gallery from the game.

Such a big win may have you in a giving mood when it comes to LSU athletics. Well, LSU athletics has just the thing for you. The athletic department unveiled the creation of its new NIL collective Bayou Traditions on Monday, to which regular fans will be able to contribute.

While the PMAC was rocking, the LSU baseball team was continuing preseason practice across campus at Alex Box Stadium. One of the few unsettled positions for the Tigers is who will play second base. Our Leah Vann takes a deep dive into the deep pool of players at second.

Finally, please check out this week's LSU gymnastics notebook, including an injury update on well-known Tiger gymnast Olivia Dunne.

That's all for now folks. Thanks for subscribing and continue to stick with us throughout the spring sports seasons.
