What are today's three most important words?

Dear John,

Three most important words.

Who’d have thought “wash your hands” could be as transformative as “I love you”?

Water is at the heart of the response to Covid-19. In fact, it’s been at the center of health, economies and environment all along.

So as we face this pandemic together, know that Circle of Blue is covering aspects of the pandemic that you won’t see most places, until we bring them to the forefront.

Stories about how financial losses threaten our water utilities, or how shifting work locations will demand new health measures for avoiding Legionnaires’ Disease. And the struggles for water and sanitation in the world's most vulnerable communities.

At Circle of Blue we're collaborating with scientists, educators, communicators, and designers to help create the best tools for understanding and prevailing over the new coronavirus.

We are also unrelenting in our commitment to informing the decisions that are still waiting out there, about how to shape our shared water future. I'm hopeful that what we as a species learn about our world and ourselves will guide us on a better way forward.

Three more important words:

We need you.

For nearly two decades, Circle of Blue donors have made a difference in a world where water is often taken for granted. We know that our support community is challenged right now, even as the need for our work — and trusted journalism — is growing.

If you can, I hope you'll consider donating whatever amount is right for you, and suggest that you multiply your effort by sharing this request with others.

Many drops do indeed fill the bucket, and in that way we carry water – and hope – forward.
