Last week, when I shared a post about who Timber is, I said that this week I was going to talk more about the suppression of the feminine in Christianity and the Church. I think this topic is important and I look forward to talking about it. But I forgot that we are on the eve of a new year, and Iβd rather address that now instead. So I will talk about the feminine next week. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Now for the New Year! Oh my dear friends. I just want to thank you for quite a year. I have found it both tough in some ways and joyful in others. The tough parts have to do with my own personal struggles, but also with the growing awareness of hate in the world as my reach increases. The joyful parts have to do with watching NakedPastor grow, as well as with loveβ¦ of those who are close to me geographically and those who are notβ¦ including YOU! Seriouslyβ¦ when you respond and we connect on a more personal level, it means so much to me. I feel like Iβve made a new friend. As much as the internet has its downfalls, Iβm also grateful for it. Mainly because it helps me get closer to you and helps you get closer to me. And that means a ton to me. So Iβm going to ask you a couple questionsβ¦ and Iβll answer them first. As we go into 2023β¦ What are you going to leave behind? What are you going to start new? For me, Iβm going to leave behind self-pity. Iβve discovered that is my default setting, and so I plan on leaving that behindβ¦ as much as I am able. I donβt mean living in denial of it, but putting it in its place. What am I going to start new? Iβm going to ramp up my self-care regimen. Iβm talking physical health, mental health, spiritual health, social health, financial healthβ¦ all of it. I turned 65 in October. I canβt believe it! But I intend on making my life even better and better as much as I am able. Your turn? What are you going to leave behind and take up? |
