Tune in for joyful color ~ free! |
|
|
I can't promise you won't see some gray roots, but I can promise you'll see oodles of color on canvas in my live video Saturday night, April 4 on my Facebook fan page. There are few things that help to take my mind off the troubles and changes we're facing these days more than painting with you, so I'm inviting you to join me in my new Colorado Springs studio for a virtual paint party. Last Saturday I shared a live video sneak peek of one of the new lessons blooming in The Joyful Brush. This week I've got a studio full of fresh flowers, and I'm itching to share as much color as possible on canvas. Mother Nature, in all her beauty, is the best medicine for everything that ails the heart and soul. Here's the time and how to join me for the live painting - Select the Facebook link below, then click "Like" and "Follow/See First" to join the party.

What an insane time this is for artists around the world. Many of us have had to postpone upcoming workshops and are now learning how to stay alive as a small business owners in this strange, new world. It's taken years to get to the point, but most folks understand that art for many of us is not a hobby. It truly is the only way we pay the mortgage, for utilities, for food and other necessities. Your local art teacher may be depending on you to support her, so she can purchase her prescriptions or keep her lights on. Whether she was teaching at Hobby Lobby, or is learning now, for the first time, how to share live videos on social media, she is counting on your encouragement and support.
There is no more critical time than now to shop small. Buy a painting, sign up for an online class, do what it takes to help keep these creative souls moving forward. Is there anything more uplifting than knowing the beauty artists create will continue to thrive, despite the turmoil of the days ahead? Color and nature are sustenance for the soul, what better way to keep those things going than to support an artist. I want to extend my deepest thanks to my students who have allowed me to transfer them to future workshops over these past few weeks. Thank you to everyone who has purchased a painting during my online sale, or signed up for an online workshop. You are the kindest souls I know, and you keep my hope afloat in these trying times. God bless you and thank you from the bottom of my heart. |

"I first saw Nancy's paintings on Pinterest and immediately fell in love with them. That's when my search for this phenomenal artist began! I am in most of her online classes and love them all." ~ Cousin Val B'dreaux

"I have learned a "college course" of techniques and skills from Nancy, developed color mixing, traveled via computer to other parts of the world, spent Sundays learning tips online with her, observed critique/computer skills, painted a multitude of fantastic flower arrangements, and increased my knowledge and enjoyment of painting. The more I paint with Nancy, the more I love the experience." ~ Lynnda Henderson

"Well, I want to recommend Nancy's workshops to my friends, but I am afraid I will have to warn them it may change their lives! Going to France and watching Nancy paint was one of the best experiences of my life. The conversations I had with everyone prompted me to do some serious soul searching. While we were at the Abbey, I got a text asking me if I would be interested in a job. It would be working for a small county and would be a salary cut. Normally, I would have said no, but I realized on this trip that I wanted to paint more and my present job was too emotionally draining. So I accepted the job and this morning I felt energized enough to paint before work. You have really changed my life for the better!" ~ Cindy Zuniga ~ France 2019 Alumni

"It was pure pleasure spending the last few days painting with you in Flower Mound Studio. Such a welcoming home with amazing Southern hospitality. I felt energized and yet reflective and calm at the same time. You have revived my passion and curiosity for my own journey. Thank you for encouraging all of us to feel special and worthy. I enjoyed every single minute of getting to know you and the other girls. I will likely be a repeat offender - LOL!" ~ Wendy Angel, Canada

"Kudos to your entire team. Your videos are so professionally done unlike two other online courses I wasted money on, where the filming was poor and the artist information sharing was very limited. Nancy and her team give everything they have to offer to the filming and the lesson process. AAA!" ~ Sally Silzars

"I attended Nancy's workshop for the last three days. Nancy always exceeds my expectations. I absolutely love every minute of her two-hour demos. She doesn't sent you off to your easel to face a blank canvas alone. She's right there for support and a step by step process. If you haven't stepped out of your comfort zone to take Nancy's workshop, you have no idea what you are missing. Start your journey either in person or online. You won't regret it!" ~ Deb Stone |

Here's my message for you: Living, painting, & moving toward your joy! |
|

Seven years ago, I quit my corporate job as the director of a national magazine to become a full time artist and art teacher. One morning I had an epiphany: Life is too short not to follow your bliss. I never dreamed that painting would someday allow me to travel around the world. In the past year, I've worked with Disney and painted on national TV! Every day I wake up and my heart surges with happiness. Yes I am an artist. Yes, this is what I do for a living. Yes, I am a lucky girl. Thank you to each of you who have walked with me on this path. Whatever your tomorrow brings, may it be filled with color!

"I just want you to know I have absolutely LOVED the online class, Painting Brilliant Colors. I was able to finish all of the paintings, and then rewatched a lot of the lessons and took notes, writing down color combinations I didn't want to forget. I LOVE the brilliant colors! and so many of your words are ringing in my ears - "don't get married to the underpainting..." "walk those colors around your canvas..." "Don't forget to step back and look at your painting"! Thank you so much for every moment! ~ Jeanne H |

"Very professionally done, we can actually see everything unlike some other online courses I've paid a lot of $ for where it's dark, pixelated, full of unprofessional noises and interruptions. You show your palette and filmed beautifully. Your courses are a joy to take, Nancy Medina!" ~ Elizabeth Mitchell

"Nancy, many thanks to both you and Carlos who made this an extraordinary weekend! I enjoyed your lessons and delving into painting Monet's gardens immensely. Your encouragement and assistance were so very appreciated. I am pleased that I have two paintings that I am willing to hang, and the challenge of another with detailed notes and photographs. You are both so gracious and welcoming us into your studio, preparing delicious meals and snacks, and making sure we were comfortable in every way. The pugs added another layer of welcome!" ~ Janice Schlotzhauer
