What awaits Louisiana's next governor?

By Jessica Williams | Capitol News Bureau Editor

State of the state: Louisiana's next governor will inherit a state that has seen progress in education and other measures over the past 15 years, but has also regressed in many ways, Tyler Bridges reports.

School closures: All East Baton Rouge Parish classes were canceled Monday as school district officials worked through their differences with bus drivers and other staffers who refused to report to work, Charles Lussier and Myracle Lewis report.

Stephen Waguespack: Stephen Waguespack is an insider's insider, someone who has been in the background of state politics for a number of years, though never before on a ballot. He's now running for governor on a platform that hinges on fiscal conservatism and workforce development, Sam Karlin reports.
