| | Bmore brewery bulletin Happy Monday, Baltimore. Hope you're recovered from the weekend, (if you attended it) Baltimore Innovation Week's fun evening events and last night's nail-biter of a Ravens game. Speaking of things you do during Ravens games or on weekends, we've got some cool news in our local beer scene. First: the Maryland Department of Commerce today announced that National Premium Beer will be manufactured here again. According to the department, production moved from Highlandtown — where it was brewed, along with Natty Boh and Colt 45, under The National Brewing Company's auspices — to Halethorpe in Baltimore County back in the 1970s. It was discontinued in 1996 and seemed like a distant memory until its trademark was acquired in the early '10s. Now, it will be brewed through a partnership with Heavy Seas Beer, also in Halethorpe. And Checkerspot Brewing Company, which operates just under I-395 near the Os and Ravens' stadiums, recently won Samuel Adams' latest Brewer Experienceship, which will allow the local brewer to collaborate with the much larger Sam Adams.
