What DeSantis told the Utah GOP about the 2024 election
“Florida is the Utah of the Southeast," Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared at the Utah Republican Party convention in Orem on Saturday.
During his keynote address in front of 2,000 state GOP delegates gathered at Utah Valley University, Gov. DeSantis spoke on the GOP's chances in 2024, his governing style and the conservative values shared by Utah and Florida.
“As an objective observer, Utah is one of the best governed, best performing states in the United States," he said. "Underlying the success of Utah has been a commitment to freedom. Like Florida, Utah proves that freedom works."

One of the many unfortunate consequences of the Great Salt Lake's rapidly shrinking water levels over the past couple of years was the closing of the lake's marina.

After being forced to dock their boats at the Great Salt Lake State Park and Marina due to drought two years ago, sailors are already beginning to return and launch their smaller vessels as water from the wet water year has returned to the lake.
Yes, the unprecedented weather we've had this past winter season — including those April snowstorms — has paid off. After hitting a historic low point last year, the lake's water levels have risen 3.5 feet so far and will rise more given the runoff has not yet reached its peak.
