A Message From the Editor

Good Morning. President Biden's decision to step aside as the Democratic contender for President in November's election has created a new race and changed much in the U.S. practically overnight. We're looking at what the move might mean for the deal market -- and for lawyers. Also, the consulting group Alvarez & Marsal plans to create a new mid-market law firm with a U.K.100 firm and will look to expand with hires and acquisitions in the U.K., U.S. and Europe. Meanwhile, the opening ceremonies of the Olympics begin Friday and Paris law firms are hoping the Olympic Games will boost U.S.-style sports deals in France.
