Business can punch you in the gut sometimes.

Not every day is puppy dogs, rainbows, and record profits.

Just like I’m sure you have…

I’ve had some pretty bad days.

Trusted friends have let me down…

Team members have quit when I needed them most…

And I’ve stared down the barrel of bankruptcy.

But the truth is...

I signed up for this, didn’t I?

If I want the wealth that comes from leading a team of twenty in a business that sells products and services to thousands of people…

Then I have to be OK with taking not just the good — but also the bad and the ugly.

So what gets me through those hard times and right back to WINNING?

More than anything else, it's my structure, routines, and habits of steel.

Because when you get knocked down…

When you have a bad day and question if it’s all worth it…

When you want to take the path of least resistance and you wish it was easier...

There’s no truer phrase than this:

“You don't rise to the occasion, you sink to the level of your training.”

Whether that quote comes from Navy SEALs or Ancient Greeks…

It couldn’t be more accurate.

If you do NOT have a good morning routine and life suddenly becomes overwhelming (for good or bad reasons)...

Then you are going to have a much harder time adjusting compared to someone with discipline, structure, and habits of steel.

But if you DO have a killer morning routine... if you always get out of bed after one ring of your alarm (without snoozing)... and if you get to work on your #1 priority ASAP daily...

Then criticism from others will not destroy your day... neither will a refund... nor a banned FB ad account... or a blown air-conditioning unit... or an upset team member... or conflict with a business partner.

Those things will bump you.

They may even bruise you.

But they will NOT throw you off your path because your structure, rituals, habits, and routines will keep you on track.

If you don’t have these in place…

The good news is that it’s easy to build your “Coat of Armor”:

- Have a consistent Wake-Up time.

- Have a consistent workout and/or meditation time.

- Build a routine that puts you into your NUI (non-urgent but important) work ASAP in the morning.

- Build an “End of Day Routine” with a strict work cut-off time and bedtime to ensure you get enough quality sleep.

Start there.

And just keep making that foundation stronger.

When you do, these systems will not only protect you through good times and bad…

They’ll actually become the bedrock your success is built on.

Success Loves Speed,

Craig
