Hey there!

Last weekend, I witnessed a delightful moment that I’d like to share with you.

I was folding laundry in our main room when my 12-year old came in to create something.

This happens frequently. Sometimes it’s to draw. Other times to make slime. And frequently to paint.

This time they had papers, scissors, and a hot glue gun spread across the table, their hands working diligently.

I couldn’t tell what they were up to and have learned it’s best to stay nearby while keeping a low profile so they can stay in the flow.

After a solid hour of twisting, cutting, and folding the paper, they quietly presented a paper flower.

It was exquisite. They put everything away, left the flower on the table, and went about their business with the next big idea.

I realized that this moment held a valuable lesson for all of us.

Their unbridled creativity in crafting that paper flower was a reminder of the importance of living a life that values imagination AND setting aside valuable time to create.

Art for art’s sake.

Prioritizing ourselves.

Making time to follow our ideas.

Like kids who dream up ideas and risk bringing them to life, we all possess the ability to imagine, create, and breathe energy into our dreams.

What have you been dreaming about?

If it happens to be paper flowers, I’d like to invite you to create your own paper flowers, guided solely by your imagination. Experiment with various shapes, sizes, colors, and materials, and allow yourself the freedom to play, make mistakes, and discover something new.

And if it's something else, prioritize YOU and set aside an hour to get into to flow with it and see what happens.

Happy creating!
