NATIONAL: Media brands Women's Health and Men's Health have teamed up with race and event company Ventures Endurance to present a nationwide virtual running event to raise funds and awareness for hunger relief in America. Taking place Nov. 22-25, America’s Turkey Trot presented by Women’s Health & Men’s Health will benefit Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. Event experience operating system Bizzabo has acquired Klik, a Montreal-based event tech start-up that provides smart wearable tech to power on-site experiences, allowing planning to easily measure attendee engagement, participation and networking. The wearables can also trigger customized recommendations on content, networking opportunities, sponsors to visit and more. Klik’s team will now be based out of Bizzabo’s newly opened Montreal office; it’s Bizzabo’s fourth acquisition in six months. ATLANTA: Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta is slated to open in December near Lenox Square. The 218-room hotel has 3,702 square feet of event space spread across six areas, including meeting rooms, a large social space and a boardroom. Each event space features built-in wet bar areas, floor-to-ceiling windows and lounge seating. Also on-site is the steakhouse Mount Royal, as well as Spaceman, an indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge complete with yard games and skyline views. KEY WEST, FLA: The Margaritaville Beach House Key West is now open in the former Barbary Beach House Key West space. The oceanfront resort on Smathers Beach has 186 suites, a lagoon-style pool and lounging hammocks throughout the grounds, as well a variety of indoor and outdoor event space. One highlight? A 1,500-square-foot event tiki that's available for small meetings and events. NEW YORK: Carnegie Hall will host Afrofuturism, an inaugural festival taking place on six dates in February and March 2022. The events will focus on looking at the future through a Black cultural lens by intersecting music, visual art, literature, politics, science fiction and technology.
