NATIONAL: UK-based Event Tech Live is launching a dedicated virtual event for the United States and Canada, running June 8-9, 2021. Event Tech Live USA & Canada will spotlight technology-based solutions for events; Marco Giberti and Dahlia El Gazzar will host from two live stages, while a third stage will feature exclusive interviews and tech demonstrations.

Global wedding planning company The Knot Worldwide has launched two new diversity measures. The first is Fellowship for Change, which will offer qualifying small businesses exclusive educational resources, mentorship opportunities, and networking and financial support; the second is a new vendor filter that allows people to search for companies that are Black-owned, LGBTQ+-owned and more.

LAS VEGAS: AREA15, the massive new art and entertainment venue located near the Strip, is hosting an event for Valentine's Day. Dubbed "Cloud9: An Immersive Indoor Picnic," the ticketed experience takes place in The Portal, AREA15’s 360-degree, projection-mapped room, and includes a picnic basket featuring a variety of interactive activities, plus a three-course meal and a bottle of Champagne. It runs from Feb. 12-14.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Bosther Kusich is the new general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale, while Jonathan Teague has been named food and beverage director and Christian Velez is the new pastry chef. The luxury resort has 192 rooms, 24,000 square feet of meeting space and a 29,000-square-foot oceanfront sundeck.

PHILADELPHIA: 12th Street Catering will offer a Paella Virtual Cooking class as a safe way for couples to celebrate Valentine's Day this year. Attendees will cook the entree, two sides and a dessert with live instructions from the company's executive chef; attendees will be mailed the ingredients in advance.
