Russell Buhr is an ICU doctor in Los Angeles, the current epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. His husband of four years, Will Murtaugh, oversees clinical trials of new COVID treatments. The coronavirus has consumed their lives — both at work and at home. And with Russell on the frontlines treating seriously ill patients, they’ve had to change some of the ways they interact and support each other when off duty.
“I’m not sure how I’d be holding up without [Will] at home,” Russell told HuffPost.
The pair opened up about their marriage and daily life during the pandemic. Their story provides one example of what it’s like being married to a healthcare worker during this taxing time.

But just because they had a tiny wedding doesn’t mean it was short on love — and these couples have the photos to prove it. |
