What makes LSU Tigers comeback cats?

If you're an LSU fan, you're familiar with the numbers.

  • Florida State: LSU trailed 17-3 and came within a blocked extra point of forcing overtime in a 24-23 loss.
  • Mississippi State: LSU trailed 13-0 and won 31-16.
  • Auburn: LSU trailed 17-0 on the road and rallied for a 21-17 win.
  • Ole Miss: LSU trailed 17-3 and outscored the Rebels in a 42-3 rout the rest of the way for a 45-20 victory.

What makes LSU such a good comeback team? Coach Brian Kelly has his informed theories, as illustrated in Wilson Alexander's story here.

Can the Tigers, who thanks to their roaring comebacks are tied for first in the SEC West with Alabama at 4-1 (6-2 overall) get off to a quicker start? it may be a critical when the Crimson Tide comes to visit Tiger Stadium on Nov. 5 in a showdown with control of the division at stake.

What time will the LSU-Bama game be played? We've got your info right here. Also, find out which three LSU players earned SEC player of the week honors Monday after the way they played against Ole Miss.

Speaking of numbers (Game times are numbers. Don't judge me.), click here to see the early betting line on the Tigers and Crimson Tide.

In case you missed it, you'll want to check out Wilson's film review featuring freshman phenom linebacker Harold Perkins.

Finally, Zach Ewing tells us how folks cashed in big time on the offensive numbers turned in by former Tigers Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase in the Cincinnati Bengals' 35-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. For Saints fans, it's like a won bet that the despised Falcons lost in the bargain.

As you may have surmised, it was a light load of stories coming out of LSU on Monday. It's a bye week, after all. But we'll still be back here with daily LSU sports content for you because that's how we were raised.

Bye (week) for now,

Scott Rabalais
