Good morning. Salt Lake City will have a high of 68° and a low of 40°.
Have you heard of Utah-based musician Ritt Momney? Every time I hear his remix of "Put Your Records On," I wonder if Utah Sen. Mitt Romney is aware of Ritt Momney's existence.
Now I don't have to wonder anymore — the two met in Romney's office Wednesday when Jack Rutter, the musician behind Ritt Momney, was in Washington for a concert.
Nearly 130,000 people left Afghanistan when the Taliban took the capital city of Kabul. Of those, 900 Afghans resettled in Utah.
Now, almost 10 million people have been displaced by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox asked the Biden administration to accept Ukrainian refugees, saying “Utah’s doors are wide open."
So why haven't any Ukrainian refugees resettled in Utah yet?
Most Ukrainians will probably go through the traditional process that takes 18 to 36 months.
Many Ukrainian refugees will likely petition to stay in countries like Poland, Hungary or Romania.
Aden Batar, director of migration and refugee services for Catholic Community Services in Utah, said many Ukrainians are still hoping to be able to return home.

Sen. Mike Lee questioned Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on child pornography sentences, the Antiquities Act and court packing.
The Antiquities Act
Jackson said if presented with a case, she would “proceed as I always have” to understand the parties’ arguments, look at what the presidential proclamation says and whether there is precedent that further defines what Congress intended with law.
“This is one of the things I’ve appreciated about you in these hearings. I really like the way you’ve described the fact that it’s important to construe the text that you’re asked to interpret. ... You’re endeavoring to figure out the original public meaning,” Lee said.
Court packing
Jackson declined to offer her opinion on court packing.
“The reason why in my view it’s not appropriate to comment is because of my fidelity to the judicial role. I understand that it’s a political question and that is precisely why I think that I am uncomfortable speaking to it,” she said.
Lee said he’s concerned about court packing because even when it doesn’t succeed legislatively, it can have an impact on how a Supreme Court justice might decide a particular case.
Read what Lee asked Jackson about her giving an offender in a child pornography case a lesser sentence than what federal guidelines recommended.

For the past two years, Utah has not held a pro day, when NFL representatives flock to campus in the spring to evaluate Ute players ahead of the draft.
In 2020, no schools had a pro day due to the pandemic. In 2021, Utah didn’t have a pro day because no players made themselves eligible for the draft.
But as coach Kyle Whittingham predicted last March, "a good crop of players" from the U. are NFL prospects this year.
