RECALL REVELATIONS -- An exhaustive review of thousands of petitions provided to The Times-Picayune by the organizers of the LaToya Cantrell recall campaign shows they contain 32,228 signatures, far short of the threshold to put the question of ousting the New Orleans mayor on the ballot. It also shows, despite organizers’ denial of racial politics in their drive to recall the Black mayor, that those who signed the almost 10,000 pages provided by the campaign are overwhelmingly White and mostly clustered in just a few wealthy neighborhoods.
