The Landscape
The downside of automation is the loss of some jobs, but the upside is the creation of at least 12 million more than those that will disappear by 2025, the World Economic Forum says. Robotics can make jobs more accessible, for instance, by eliminating "ability to lift" requirements, rescuing people from repetitive tasks and offer safer and more rewarding jobs and career paths, writes Flex CEO Revathi Advaithi, who advocates robust training programs.

Researchers compared pre-pandemic data on extroversion, neuroticism, agreeableness, openness and conscientiousness to information collected this year and last, and found that the COVID-19 pandemic's stresses have contributed to significant personality changes among Americans. Researchers, who used longitudinal personality assessment data from the Understanding America Study, noted in the journal PLOS One that extroversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness decreased once the pandemic began, especially among young adults.
