A different Baltimore Raven(scroft) 

Meet Mike Ravenscroft, the managing director of the Maryland Momentum Fund. Ravenscroft's expertise lies in entrepreneurship and venture investment, which he has pursued throughout his career. That leadership underscores his presence as a featured speaker at our upcoming Philly Tech Week 2023. 
 
He manages administration, operations, and investments at the Maryland Momentum Fund, a $16 million seed-stage venture fund designed to catalyze innovations affiliated with alumni, faculty, students and staff at University System of Maryland institutions. With his extensive investment experience — including his previous roles at Dreamit Ventures, CIT GAP Funds and C5 Capital — Ravenscroft has specialized in healthcare IT and medical device startups. He also ran venture-backed accelerators and was the CEO of re:Founded, a venture consultancy that focused on strategic advisory services for venture capital firms.

Ravenscroft boasts an MBA from the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as a BA from the University of Michigan. In his previous role as a podcast host, Ravenscroft shared his insights into entrepreneurship and venture investment with his audience. Philly Tech Week 2023 attendees can expect to learn from him about how tech economies are currently growing, as well as the broader state of the industry.
