In a recent survey conducted by The Chronicle, 91 percent of college officials surveyed said students, faculty, and staff consider their campuses safe. They noted, though, that challenges remain in addressing student mental health — and the impact that could play in overall campus safety and wellness.

Across colleges and universities, technology is playing a greater role in supporting campus safety efforts. Implementing AI programs, for example, can save costs, but concerns persist regarding racial bias and cyber attacks.
