Good morning to everyone except Andrew Cuomo. In some good news today, workers at the Brooklyn Museum have averted further layoffs after the city approved $2.5 million in funding for the institution. It’s a story about what happens when unions, community members, and advocates come together to stay in the fight, no matter the hurdles.

Another reason to smile: the term “Lordussy,” which is what fans of Lorde have lovingly dubbed the risqué photograph included with the vinyl for the singer’s fourth studio album. Staff Writer Isa Farfan unpacks the frenzy around the image, taken by brilliant photographer Talia Chetrit.
