Dear John
What are your favorite Christmas memories? Do they center around family, friends and faith?
Mine sure do!
Here are three memories I am grateful for that I hope will bless you.
1. Dad passing out gifts on Christmas Eve one at a time: Our whole family would get together and Dad would pick a present from under the tree, call the name, and hand it to them. Oh, did he have fun teasing the younger ones! Mom's gift was always last.
2. Packed tightly in the car looking at Christmas lights, singing Christmas songs. No one in the Ziglar family can sing, so the songs always broke down into laughter.
3. Christmas Eve service when the kids come down to the front of the church for a special Christmas message. Dad's eyes would always glisten with tears. The love and gratitude Dad had could never be contained in his heart - it always managed to spill out of his eyes.
This is so nostalgic, so full of love and joy. It’s what most of us want our Christmas to be. (And if our Christmas memories don’t leave us smiling, it’s certainly what we want to create for our future.)
Whether you have happy memories of Christmas or ones that are less so, the message of Christmas cannot be denied.
If you’ve been following along with my emails this month, you know that I’ve been talking about the season of Advent. So far, I’ve talked about hope, peace and joy.
Today, I want to talk about love. Why does a company focused on helping you WIN want to talk about something mushy like love? What’s love got to do with it?
Love has everything to do with it!
Christmas is about LOVE.
God has a loving plan for us, and it started all the way back at Creation.
He created us in His image. He created us to love and be loved.
All through Scripture we can see his loving plan for us unfold.
We celebrate Christmas because God sent the ultimate gift of love when He sent Jesus to be our Savior.
What should our response be to such a great love?
We can live out our call to love each other, and to share God’s love.
What better way to do that than to focus on being the best “you” you can be, and then building a legacy of love and influence that leaves the people in your world better for having known you?
But how do you do this?
You start by taking responsibility for your future. No matter where you are in life right now, what you do starting today can make your future – and your legacy – absolutely MAGNIFICENT!
All you need to do is master some simple, basic principles.
Dad used to tell a story of a conversation he had with Dr. Steve Franklin of Emory University.
Dr. Franklin said,
“You know, Zig, the great truths in life are the simple ones. Think about it. Did you realize there are only 3 pure colors in this world? But look at what Michelangelo did with those three colors! There are only 7 notes. But look at what Chopin and Beethoven and Vivaldi did with those 7 notes! You can keep it simple and change your world.”
This year has brought so many challenges and changes.
But you can turn them into opportunities if you will just change the way you look at what is going on in you and around you. How? By building an unshakable foundation based on timeless truths and then begin taking the steps that will lead you to success.
To help you with this, we’ve put together a limited edition box-set called The Ziglar Transformation Trilogy.
Consider it your shortcut to success. It contains the entire roadmap taught by Zig Ziglar. Every step in this system is simple to understand. Anyone can do it.
In this we’ve combined Ziglar’s “big three” books with some very special bonus items specifically chosen to help you take action in 2021 into one amazing package that will change your life. It’s designed specifically to get you results.
In my next message, I’ll tell you more about what is in that package and what kind of transformation you can look forward to. But if you want to check it out before then, here’s the link.
To your life of love and a legacy of influence…
