As a team, we want to thank you for the support you've shown us through the last two months. Our Skate Schools are closed in Afghanistan for the moment, but we still believe there is a bright future ahead of us. Our Skate Schools in Cambodia and South Africa remain open and we're excited to bring you updates from those locations as we look to the future and bring skateboarding and education to children in more locations around the globe. On Go Skateboarding Day (June 21), Vans announced a new partnership with Skateistan, and launched a campaign called 'Where It Starts' which reminds everyone that skateboarding would not be where it is today without the strength of community. In August, Skateistan South Africa was featured in episode 2 of 'A Simple Path' on Insight TV. Professional skateboarder Yann Horowitz visited Skateistan in Johannesburg to meet our staff and students and get to know the community around our Skate School. In July, we announced exciting expansion news, that our programs are now up and running in Jordan! The awesome 7Hills team began running Skateistan programs at the end of May this year and they’re currently running Outreach sessions as well as Skate and Create program sessions. They're running programs in two locations in Jordan: Zarqa and Irbid, connecting new communities of children to skateboarding. We created a series of skate trick tutorials to help you learn just like our students, directly from Skateistan educators. We used clips of students performing tricks and created a YouTube series to help people learn how to ollie, kickflip, 50-50 grind, smith grind, and pop shove-it. Check out the skate trick tutorials on Skateistan's YouTube channel. By donating $10 or more a month you become a Citizen of Skateistan and help make it possible for thousands of children to attend our programs worldwide. The Citizens of Skateistan is our global community of students, staff, skaters and supporters who share the dream of empowering and educating children through skateboarding. Your support would mean a lot to our students and programs! EVENTS SUPPORTING SKATEISTAN Want to support Skateistan and learn to do something cool, like make homemade pasta?
